Rosie Chapman announced as Big Local Trust protector

We are pleased to announce that Rosie Chapman has been appointed by the National Lottery Community Fund as Protector of Big Local Trust. Her role will be to ensure that the administration of the Big Local programme accords with the expressed wishes of the funder.

Big Local provides over £1 million to each of 150 neighbourhoods in England to spend over a 10-15 year period. It hands over control to local communities to improve their areas, providing the support, training and assistance they need to make the most of this unique opportunity.

A former Director of Policy & Effectiveness at the Charity Commission and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Rosie has a detailed knowledge and sophisticated understanding of charity governance and regulatory frameworks. She is the Chair of the Steering Group which oversees the Charity Governance Code and a former advisor to the House of Lords ad hoc Committee on charities.
