Research plans announced
We’re delighted to announce outline plans for a major new research project that will capture the contemporary value of community development and scope its future.
The project theme is ‘Empowered communities in the 2020s: shaping the future of community development’ and you can download the project plan below.
At Local Trust, we put learning and collaboration at the heart of our work to support communities, so we’re proud to be commissioning and managing this research project, which has the potential to shape the future of community development in the UK.
This exciting opportunity, funded by the Community Development Foundation (CDF) and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), has already generated substantial interest and we look forward to involving a wide range of stakeholders with the work over the coming months.
The findings from the research will inform further work to improve working with communities including the allocation of the £500k gifted to Local Trust by CDF on its closure in March 2016.
To ensure that the project is guided by people with a broad range of relevant interests, skills and experience, we will invite expressions of interest to be on the steering group. The process for submitting an expression of interest will be announced in October 2016. For more information, download the steering group information below.
To receive email updates on the project, including a message when we start accepting expressions of interest to join the steering group, sign up using our quick online form, or send your name, organisation (if applicable) and email address to Lisa-Marie.Giquel@localtrust.org.uk.
