This briefing is part of our Local Trust research papers series, originally shared internally with staff. It investigates why some areas are at risk of not spending all their funding by the end of the Big Local programme in March 2026.

The paper also reflects the perspective of areas themselves and what support they thought might help to reduce the risk of not spending the entire £1million.
