Big Local Chairs Network

As Chairs, you have regularly emphasised the value of learning from each other, so please save the dates for the upcoming Big Local Chairs Network meetings planned for the coming months! 

The chairs network is an opportunity for all chairs involved in Big Local to connect, learn, and support each other in a group environment. As a Chair you may find yourself juggling many balls and dealing with small to complex challenges. The Chairs meeting provides an opportunity to sound out possible solutions to problems, receive feedback, gain different perspectives and receive support. It is acknowledged that as Big Local Areas will be at different stages of closing out, the support needs may be varied, and the sessions are designed to be flexible. 

Programme of activity 2024-25 

Over the next year, we’ll host regular facilitated sessions, each lasting 60 minutes. Each session will focus on two key elements: networking and reflection, with opportunities to explore topics and tools relevant to your role as a chair. 

If you feel comfortable, please bring a challenge you are experiencing as a chair to the session. We will discuss them as a group and find solutions together.

• Session 1: Wednesday, 18th September 2024, 12:15pm – 1:15pm

• Session 2: Wednesday, 13th November 2024, 6:00pm – 7:00pm

• Session 3: Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, 12:15pm – 1:15pm

• Session 4: Wednesday, 19th March 2025, 6:00pm – 7:00pm 

All sessions will be delivered online and facilitated by Daksha Patel

Each session will follow the below agenda 

• Welcome and introduction 

• Chairs networking 

• Exploring challenges faced by chairs  

• Reflection and learning
