Through the Big Local programme, many areas use their funding to deliver grants in their community, to build or improve local capacity and community infrastructure.

This research explores the conditions for successful community grant making and the benefits community grants bring to Big Local areas. While it has primarily been written for Local Trust, the report may also provide learning for other funders and local voluntary and community groups who run or support community grant programmes.

The guide accompanying this report is due for publication later this year.
